Growing in Russia: Success Factors
The Russian economy has come a great way from its centralized and over-planned past to being a bustling powerhouse in Europe and Asia. While many economic fundamentals are promising (Russian industrial production growing at 5.3% in 2011, lagging behind only Germany among all G8 countries) and shed new light on great opportunities, some major challenges have to be tackled and many efforts remain to be undertaken. Learning from the past, the growth of the Russian economy will be raised to a higher level by promoting private equity investment, providing a more efficient financing environment. Innovation and commercialization are the two main themes to promote the countries modernization. However paying attention to the country’s origin, its culture and soft factors will be essential for achieving progress.
